Coimbatore, Nov 24: Tearful tributes were paid to Wing Commander Namansh Syal at the Sulur Air Base near Coimbatore, after his mortal remains were brought from Dubai following the fatal Tejas fighter jet crash during a manoeuvre at the Dubai Air Show.Senior IAF officers and Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar laid wreaths and paid their respects. Emotional scenes unfolded as Syal’s wife, present at the ceremony, was consoled by officials.
Wing Commander Syal, who was serving at the Sulur base and had flown from there to Dubai for the air show, will be taken to his native Himachal Pradesh for the final rites.
