The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that 97.43% of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms have been distributed to Tamil Nadu’s 6.24 crore voters as part of the ongoing electoral roll update ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) collected 4.53 crore forms, with 70.70% successfully uploaded to the ECI portal, reflecting efficient house-to-house enumeration that began November 4 and continues until December 4.
BLOs deliver pre-filled forms during at least three household visits, assisting voters without requiring documents initially; draft rolls publish December 9 for claims till January 8, with final rolls on February 7, 2026.
Voters can also submit digitally via the ECI Voters’ Portal or app, ensuring no polling station exceeds 1,200 voters; helpdesks aid form-filling amid concerns over deletions.
