Tamil Nadu BJP state president K. Annamalai on Wednesday hit back strongly at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Arunraj over his criticism related to the Thiruparankundram issue, using vivid language to defend his political stance and allegiance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reacting to Arunraj’s remarks, Annamalai described himself as a “loyal dog to Modi” who speaks the truth and does not flatter anyone for positions or power. He said the metaphorical “tail” of this loyal dog may bend, but it will always speak honestly and will not bow down just to please others.
Annamalai dismissed suggestions that he had taken political positions for personal gain, saying he did not resign from office or engage in politics merely to flatter film personalities or seek posts. Instead, he stressed that his commitment is to principle and service to the people and the Prime Minister.
He emphasised that he would continue to face challenges for the sake of the public and took pride in standing by his convictions. Annamalai also stated that if holding a position meant flattering others, then he would rather forgo that position.
