Chennai, Apr 1:
Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran has sharply criticised the ruling DMK government, questioning whether the current law and order situation could lead to a state of “emergency-like” conditions in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking on the prevailing situation, he alleged that crime and drug-related issues have increased significantly under the present regime. He claimed that the deterioration in law and order has created fear among the public and raised concerns over governance in the state.
Nagendran further accused the DMK government of failing to ensure public safety and maintaining stability, stating that such conditions were not conducive for a well-functioning administration. He reiterated that the NDA alliance would bring change in governance if voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The remarks come amid intensified political exchanges ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu polls, with opposition parties mounting strong attacks on the DMK over issues of law and order and governance.
