Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad took full responsibility after his team slumped to a heavy defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, marking his seventh consecutive loss as captain in the IPL.
CSK conceded a massive total of 250/3, with RCB dominating the death overs by scoring 97 runs in the final five overs. Despite staying in the contest for a while, CSK eventually lost by 43 runs.
After the match, Gaikwad admitted the defeat was “on him,” acknowledging that his performance at the top order and overall execution fell short, impacting the team’s chances.
The continued losing streak has raised concerns for CSK early in the season, putting pressure on the new captain to turn things around quickly.
