Chennai, Apr 15:
Train services between Chennai and Arakkonam will face partial cancellations from April 16 to April 19 due to maintenance work at the Arakkonam railway workshop, according to Southern Railway.
Officials said suburban electric train (EMU) services will be regulated and partially cancelled during this period to facilitate the ongoing maintenance activities. The move is part of routine infrastructure upkeep aimed at ensuring safer and more efficient train operations.
As per the revised schedule, the EMU train departing from Chennai Central railway station at 11:00 AM towards Arakkonam will run only up to Tiruvallur and will remain cancelled between Tiruvallur and Arakkonam.
Similarly, the train leaving Tiruttani at 12:35 PM for Chennai Central will be short-terminated at Tiruvallur, with services cancelled for the remaining stretch.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to plan their journeys in advance and stay updated with official announcements to avoid inconvenience during the disruption period.
