Chennai, May 5:
Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Monday extended his wishes to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay following the party’s impressive performance in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Reacting to the results, he acknowledged the significance of TVK emerging as a major political force in the State and conveyed his greetings to Vijay for successfully mobilising public support in his debut electoral contest.
The development comes amid a broader political churn in Tamil Nadu, where TVK has emerged as a key player in a historic election that has reshaped the State’s political landscape.
While extending his wishes, P. Chidambaram is also learnt to have emphasised the challenges of governance, noting that electoral success must be followed by clear policy direction and administrative clarity.
He further expressed hope that Vijay would prioritise inclusive development and uphold democratic values, stressing that the mandate offers an opportunity to deliver stable and people-centric governance in Tamil Nadu.
