Chennai, June 4:
A high-level review meeting on law and order and drug prevention was reportedly held in Tamil Nadu under the chairmanship of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, during which several key instructions were issued to the police department.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Police (DGP) and senior ministers including Nirmalkumar and Vignesh, along with top officials from the state police.
During the discussions, the Chief Minister is said to have directed the police to take swift and decisive action to completely eradicate drug trafficking in the state. He reportedly emphasized intensified monitoring to prevent the sale of narcotics near schools and colleges.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure that students and youth are protected from drug addiction through preventive and awareness-based measures, along with strict enforcement actions.
Special focus was placed on crimes against women, with directions to identify and prevent such offences in advance and take prompt action against offenders.
Vijay further stressed the need for immediate resolution of law and order issues and instructed the police to ensure comprehensive safety and security for the public across Tamil Nadu.
