Chennai, June 16:

Mobile phones have emerged as a significant factor contributing to the increase in divorce cases, observed Justice GR Swaminathan.

Speaking on the issue, the judge pointed out that excessive use of mobile phones and social media platforms has been creating misunderstandings and weakening communication between couples. Easy access to private interactions and digital distractions are often leading to trust issues and conflicts within marriages.

He emphasized that while technology has brought convenience, its misuse is affecting personal relationships. The judge also highlighted the need for couples to maintain transparency and healthy communication to sustain marital harmony..The remarks come amid a noticeable rise in divorce cases, with experts attributing changing lifestyles and digital dependency as key reasons behind the trend.
