Chennai, June 20:
PMK MLA Sowmya Anbumani met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Vijay at the Secretariat along with party MLAs and expressed her appreciation for the announcement of a social justice survey in the Governor’s address.
The meeting comes after Governor Vishwanath Arlekar, in his address at the first session of the 17th Assembly, stated that the state government would conduct a social justice survey after the completion of the Union government’s population census.
Following the announcement, PMK leader Anbumani and PMK legislature party leader Sowmya had welcomed the move.
During her meeting with the Chief Minister, Sowmya conveyed thanks for the government’s commitment to conducting the social justice assessment, which was highlighted in the Governor’s speech.
The development is seen as a positive political engagement between the ruling administration and PMK representatives on welfare and caste-based data collection initiatives.
