Chennai, Aug 24:
The Tamil Nadu Information Integrity Desk (TNIID) has debunked social media claims that the State government was planning to accommodate children affected by chickenpox at a hall instead of providing them vaccination at hospitals.
TNIID clarified that the proposed hall at the Anbil Mariamman Temple was meant for devotees who recover from chickenpox and visit the temple to offer prayers and fulfil their vows.
The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department said devotees themselves had sought a facility to stay and worship after recovering from the illness.
The desk stressed that the proposed facility had no connection with vaccination arrangements and urged people to verify information before sharing it on social media.
