“‘Adanga Maru‘ is a different cop story. We shot the entire movie in Chennai. There will be plenty of action to entertain fans,” says Jayam Ravi.

Directed by Karthik Thangavel, the movie will hit the screens 21 December.

Rashi Khanna plays the heroine, while the cast includes Ponvannan and Munishkanth.

“I want to do movies in varied genres. ‘Adanga Maru‘ will be different from my last venture ‘Tik Tik Tik‘,” he adds.

Excerpts from his interview

Q: Tell us about ‘Adanga Maru‘.
A: It is an action-packed police entertainer. The story revolves around the travails of a youngster, who becomes a police officer. The entire movie was shot in and around Chennai.

Q: How was it to play a police officer in ‘Adanga Maru‘?
A: I have already acted as police officer in ‘Thani Oruvan‘ and ‘Bogan‘. I watched several police officers in close quarters. I studied their body language and reproduced it on screen. I hit the gym and toned my physique for the role.

Q: On sharing the screen with Rashi Khanna.
A: Though she is just one film old in Tamil cinema, she is a wonderful talent. Her performance will be appreciated by all. She is bubbly and energetic.

Q: Who do you want to work in future?
A: I thank all my filmmakers who rendered hits for me. I want to do films with them again. And soon, I will be joining hands with my brother Jayam Raja for a sequel to ‘Thani Oruvan’.
