Chennai: Buzzark Simulations , an IIT Madras incubated start-up founded by Ragul Puhazhendi (College of Engineering Guindy alumnus ), co-founded by Gopi Puhazhendi along with V Prabhakar (safety specialist , Regional Labour Institute Alumnus) and K.Sathyanarayanan (emerging technology expert, College of Engineering Guindy alumnus) have come up with an innovative technology solution to help people during the Covid-19 Pandemic using Artificial Intelligence in CCTV camera.
As the nation gears up for reopening of workplaces, social places in phased manner, the team has identified this key issue in ensuring people follow preventive safety guidelines.
To tackle this problem the technology SMART (Social Distance Ensuring Mask Monitoring ProActive Revisualisation Technology ) Buzzark CCTV, an artificial intelligence system was developed to identify people wearing masks, distinguish between people maintain social distancing and its violators .
Further the technology automatically detects people coming in close contact of less than one meter distance and recognises them.
Once the violators are identified by the technology, it automatically can send notifications proactively and triggers alarms for people to be aware of the violations. The team believes this will be a great technology for employers, institutions and places of public gatherings to ensure that proper safety precautions have been ensured.
