New Delhi: The Indian Army has refuted reports claiming that a number of its soldiers went missing after the violent clashes with Chinese troops at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh three days back.
In a statement, it said, ‘it is clarified that there are no Indian troops missing in action.’
During media briefing, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava also said that no Indian soldiers were missing since the clashes on Monday evening.
The Indian Army has said seventy-six Indian soldiers, who were injured during a violent clash with the Chinese troops at Galwan Vally in eastern Ladakh, were undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
In a statement, it said, ‘Eighteen soldiers are at our hospital in Leh. They will be out on duty in about 15 days. Fifty-eight soldiers are at other hospitals. They should be back on duty within a week.’ The army added that none of those injured was critical.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Anurag Srivastava has said that the clash could have been avoided had the agreement at the higher level been scrupulously followed by the Chinese side.
