Hyderabad: At least 10 and 15 people were killed in rain-related incidents across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively, following torrential downpour in the last 48 hours.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy regarding the situation in Telangana and AP respectively due to heavy rainfall.
“Spoke to Telangana CM KCR Garu and AP CM YS Jagan Garu regarding the situation in Telangana and AP respectively due to heavy rainfall. Assured all possible support and assistance from the Centre in rescue and relief work. My thoughts are with those affected due to the heavy rains”, the Prime Minister said.
In a tweet, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “Rajbhavan appeals for flood relief support to sufferors of Telangana excess rainfall.”
She also exhorted the Red Cross functionaries and volunteers all over the State to take active part in the rescue and relief measures in rain-hit areas.
