Chennai: A recent survey which was conducted to understand the behaviour and involvement of women when it comes to investment in health insurance has claimed that 98 per cent respondents feel policies need to be more women-centric.
The report showed that women believe that there should be more women centric health add-ons in the health insurance such as menstruation/hormonal issues, PCOD treatment, mental illness related to postpartum syndrome and osteoporosis treatment.
Women’s health has been majorly affected given their ever-evolving roles both at work as well as at home which make the need for health insurance vital, said the survey by Neilsen and commissioned by Reliance General Insurance.
“Their bodies are biologically different from men; hence it has been noted that women are more susceptible to critical ailments such as arthritis, breast cancer, auto-immune diseases, menstruation/hormonal issue etc.,” it said.
