INDIA alliance lacks consensus, says EPS

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has criticized the lack of consensus among parties in the INDIA bloc, highlighting the contradictions in their alliances across different states ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking at a public meeting aimed at garnering support for AIADMK candidate Ashok Kumar in the Erode Parliamentary constituency, Palaniswami questioned the ability of INDIA bloc parties to select a Prime Ministerial candidate when they cannot even agree on contesting elections together in various states.

Palaniswami took a swipe at Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for questioning the AIADMK about its Prime Ministerial candidate, stating that unlike Stalin’s ambitions for power at the Centre, their focus remains on serving the people who have entrusted them with their votes.

Highlighting the discrepancies between national and state-level priorities, Palaniswami emphasized the need for parties to address the issues affecting their respective states. He asserted that while national parties may prioritize their vision at the national level, they often show less concern when states face challenges.

Palaniswami also underscored the importance of parties addressing state-specific problems and facing elections accordingly. He reiterated the AIADMK’s commitment to serving the people’s interests and implied that their decision to part ways with the National Democratic Alliance stemmed from the state’s interests being affected.
