Mogadishu, Aug 4: A devastating explosion at a popular beach restaurant in Mogadishu, Somalia, has resulted in the deaths of at least 37 civilians and left 212 injured, according to the Somali health minister. The attack, which occurred late on Friday, is the deadliest in Somalia since October 2022.
The Somali government has attributed the assault to the militant Islamist group al Shabaab, although the group has not yet claimed responsibility. In addition to the civilian casualties, one soldier was killed during the attack.
