In a press briefing held in Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur district, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Chief Coordinator Seeman criticized the Tamil Nadu government’s financial management and questioned its priorities.Seeman highlighted a critical issue, pointing out that the Tamil Nadu government claimed it could not pay teachers’ salaries due to a lack of funds from the central government. He questioned how the government could justify spending crores on projects such as memorials, car races, chess tournaments, and bus stands, yet be unable to provide salaries to educators.
Seeman also criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for its failure to secure adequate funds from the central government despite having 40 Members of Parliament (MPs) in its alliance. He questioned the purpose of this alliance if it could not effectively advocate for the state’s financial needs.
Seeman further questioned why, despite the DMK’s claims of Tamil Nadu’s progress, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin did not seek treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital when his health was affected. He criticized the reliance on private hospitals by government officials, questioning the need for public hospitals if they were not used by the state’s leadership.
Seeman also raised concerns about reservation policies, questioning why reservations should continue to be provided to communities that have already achieved significant progress. He suggested that these policies need to be reevaluated in light of the current social and economic landscape.
Regarding the party conference organized by actor Vijay’s newly formed party, Seeman stated that his participation would not be appropriate. He emphasized that Tamil Nadu requires a large number of political leaders who are genuinely dedicated to working for the welfare of Tamils and the people of Tamil Nadu.
