North Chennai Development Gets a Boost
Addressing the gathering, Stalin emphasized that North Chennai had been neglected in the past but was now undergoing significant transformation under his government. “We must develop North Chennai to be on par with Central and South Chennai,” he stated, adding that various special schemes were being implemented to uplift the area.
The Chief Minister recalled his initial allocation of ₹1,000 crore for the North Chennai Development Project, which has now been increased to ₹6,400 crore to support multiple development initiatives. “Our government fulfills its promises and even delivers schemes that were not included in our manifesto,” he assured.
Stalin reiterated his well-known stance that his Dravidian model government serves not only those who voted for it but also those who didn’t vote or forgot to vote. “We want even those who didn’t vote for us to feel regret,” he remarked, highlighting his administration’s inclusive governance approach.
Listing various welfare initiatives launched by his government, Stalin pointed out that schemes like the CM’s Breakfast Scheme, Pudhumai Penn, and Tamil Puthalvan were not election promises but were still implemented for the welfare of students. “This government goes beyond fulfilling poll promises,” he stated.
The event was also attended by HR&CE Minister PK Sekarbabu and TNUHDB Minister TM Anbarasan, who lauded the government’s efforts in housing and urban development.
With housing allotments, infrastructure projects, and welfare schemes, Stalin’s government continues to push forward its vision for a developed and inclusive Tamil Nadu.
