Mettur Dam water level rises as inflow increases


Water level of the Mettur Dam has risen to 118.63 feet as of this morning. The dam, which has a total capacity of 120 feet, is approaching its full reservoir level.
The inflow of water into the dam has significantly increased to 16,288 cubic feet per second, a substantial rise from yesterday’s inflow of 8,776 cubic feet per second.
The dam currently holds a water storage of 91.30 TMC. To support agricultural activities, 7,000 cubic feet of water per second is being released for irrigation in the Cauvery Delta, while another 500 cubic feet of water per second is being released for the East and West canals.
