Former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai on Thursday expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, citing the presence of Islamic State (IS) supporters in Salem and Coimbatore as proof of rising threats. He urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to appoint a special officer dedicated to monitoring and countering terrorism in Tamil Nadu.Annamalai emphasized the need for all political parties to unite in the fight against terrorism and urged vigilance to prevent further danger to the State’s security. He also expressed confidence that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would win the Bihar polls and predicted a potential win for BJP in Tamil Nadu’s upcoming Assembly elections. Criticizing DMK MP T.R. Baalu for missing a court hearing in a defamation case while participating in an Enforcement Directorate protest, Annamalai accused the DMK leader of misleading the judiciary. On a personal note, Annamalai addressed questions about his real estate business, defending it as a means to support his family and rejecting any inquisition into his financial matters. Annamalai also announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Coimbatore on November 19 to address the South India Natural Farming Summit.
