Chennai, Mar 26:
Today marks the final opportunity for eligible citizens in Tamil Nadu to get their names included in the electoral roll ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Authorities have urged voters to make use of this last chance to ensure their participation in the democratic process.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, all eligible individuals who have not yet registered must submit their applications by today. Applications can be filed using Form-6 either online through the official Election Commission portals or directly at the respective Electoral Registration Officer’s office.
Officials clarified that only those who apply before the deadline will be included in the supplementary voter list and will be eligible to vote in the 2026 Assembly elections. Missing this deadline could mean losing the chance to vote in the upcoming polls, even if the application is submitted later.
To make the process easier, the Election Commission has provided several options for registration:
Online through official voter service portals
Mobile applications such as ECINet
Submission through local election offices or booth-level officers
Citizens have also been advised to verify their names in the voter list through official websites and ensure all details are accurate.
The Election Commission has stressed the importance of including every eligible voter to maintain transparency and fairness in elections. Large-scale revision drives were conducted earlier to remove duplicate and ineligible entries, while also allowing new voters to enroll.
