Chennai, March 26:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is set to formally begin his election campaign for the upcoming Assembly polls on April 2, marking a crucial phase in the ruling party’s efforts to retain power.
According to reports, the campaign will be launched with a series of public meetings and outreach programmes across key constituencies starting from Thiruvarur. The move comes as political activity intensifies across the state ahead of the April 23 elections.
The campaign launch is expected to be a high-profile event, with senior leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam participating alongside Stalin. The party is likely to highlight its governance record and welfare schemes while seeking a renewed mandate.
DMK has already been actively preparing the ground through conferences, cadre mobilisation, and grassroots outreach programmes in recent weeks.
During the campaign, Stalin is expected to emphasise the “Dravidian Model” of governance, showcasing achievements in social welfare, infrastructure, and economic development.
