Chennai, Mar 26:
With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026 scheduled for April 23, political activity has intensified across the state. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is set to hold its candidate introduction meeting on March 27 in Mamallapuram.
Party leader Vijay is expected to unveil the first list of candidates and address the gathering, with around 110 candidates likely to be announced in the initial phase.
TVK has already declared that it will contest all 234 constituencies independently, positioning itself as a key player in a likely four-cornered contest alongside the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK).
Sources indicate that Vijay may contest from the Perambur constituency. The announcement comes ahead of nomination filing from March 30, with vote counting scheduled for May 4.
