Chennai, Apr 14:
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday accused DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of spreading “false claims” on the delimitation issue out of fear of losing the 2026 Assembly election.
Addressing an election campaign meeting in Dindigul district, Palaniswami said Union Home Minister Amit Shah had already clarified that Tamil Nadu would not lose any Lok Sabha seats due to delimitation.
“Despite this, Stalin continues to raise the issue and question my silence,” he said.
Taking a dig at the DMK over the Hindi imposition row, the AIADMK leader pointed out that during the anti-Hindi agitations, the Congress was in power both at the Centre and in the State. “The DMK is now in alliance with the same party and is lecturing on language issues,” he alleged.
Palaniswami also accused the DMK government of “rampant corruption” and criticised its election promise of ₹8,000 coupons. He claimed the scheme was aimed at facilitating commissions. In contrast, he highlighted AIADMK’s promise of ₹10,000 financial assistance to all households.
