Chennai, June 13:
Young musical prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram received a rousing reception at the Chennai airport on Friday upon his return from London, where he created an original symphony orchestra with musicians from the globally acclaimed London Symphony Orchestra.
Tamil Nadu Ministers Rajmohan and Vanni Arasu, along with MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, were among those who welcomed him at the airport.
Lydian has composed an original symphony featuring artistes from the London Symphony Orchestra, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading orchestras. The audio of his composition is set to be released on June 21, marking World Music Day, at the Music Academy in Chennai.
Following the launch, the symphony will be performed live at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, one of the world’s most prestigious concert venues.
Speaking to reporters, Lydian credited legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja as his mentor and inspiration. “We are all students of Ilaiyaraaja. He initiated the symphony movement and encouraged the younger generation to continue this journey,” he said.
Later, Lydian met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin at his Alwarpet residence and sought his blessings.
In a post on X, Stalin lauded Lydian for composing and recording his first symphony album, “Symphony No.1 – New Beginnings,” with 92 world-class musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra. He praised the young artiste as a rising talent destined for greater achievements.
