EPS talks tough on coal mining in delta area

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday urged DMK MPs and its allies to raise the matter of Centre’s move to auction three lignite blocks in the Cauvery Delta basin of Tamil Nadu in Parliament.“The central government has decided to dig coal mines at 101 places across India including 3 places in Tamil Nadu. Already 105 villages have been affected by NLC mining. In this situation, their plan to dig three new mines in the Delta area has left the farmers agitated,” Palaniswami told reporters in Chennai.
