The Income Tax Department continued its searches at the premises of DMK Lok Sabha MP and former Union minister S Jagathrakshakan in Chennai for the second day on Friday.
According to reports, the central agency seized unaccounted money to the tune of Rs 1.2 cr from S Jagathrakshakan’s residence in Chennai, while Rs 10 crore was seized from Savitha group of Educational institutions.
The I-T Department started conducting searches at over 40 locations linked to DMK leader Jagathrakshakan which included the office and residence of the leader. This is in connection with a tax evasion case.
The raids that were started on Thursday early morning encompassed his residence, office, and associated company locations, spanning across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
