Union Minister and senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal will arrive in Tamilnadu to attend Annamalai’s En Mann En Makkal padayatra on 16 October.
The next leg of Annamalai’s padayatra, which was scheduled to begin on October 6, was postponed to October 16 due to his ill health.
Sources say that Piyush Goyal will take part in the padayatra. Later he will hold discussions with senior leaders of the party on preparations for forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Annamalai, launched his six-month-long padayatra on July 28, 2023, from Rameswaram. The sacred temple town is also the birthplace of former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam.
AnnamalaiāsĀ march aims to cover all 234 assembly constituencies in the state, with a massive outreach to the masses. His main task is to communicate BJPās vision of development and nationalism. But the more important objective is to garner votes in the general elections in 2024 by projecting the BJP as a viable alternative to the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party.
