Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express services on the Chennai-Nagercoil and Madurai-Bengaluru routes on August 31. The announcement was made by Hari Krishnan, the Chief Personnel Officer, and Malabika Ghosh Mohan, the Principal Financial Advisor of Southern Railway, during a press briefing held at the Southern Railway headquarters in Chennai.The inauguration ceremony will take place in Bengaluru, where Prime Minister Modi will flag off the services via video conferencing. The Vande Bharat Express from Chennai will depart from Egmore station at 5:00 AM and is scheduled to arrive in Nagercoil at 1:50 PM.
The launch of these new Vande Bharat Express services is expected to enhance connectivity between these major cities, offering faster and more comfortable travel options for passengers. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade the country’s railway infrastructure and provide modern travel experiences to the public.
