Chennai: Skipping breakfast has been linked to several adverse health outcomes.

Dr Krishna, a Surgical Gastroenterologist in Chennai, emphasizes that starting your day without breakfast might seem convenient, but it can backfire on your health.

He notes that skipping breakfast can lead to various health issues.

Research indicates that individuals who forgo breakfast may experience increased risks of heart disease, diabetes, and weight gain.

Additionally, skipping breakfast can lead to blood sugar imbalances and a greater risk of chronic diseases.

In Chennai, medical professionals have observed that children who skip breakfast may not benefit fully from physical activities at school. Doctors’ bodies such as the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Indian Medical Association have called for free breakfast schemes to ensure children receive adequate nutrition to support their physical activities.

Dr. S. Murthy, highlights that skipping breakfast can lead to hair fall, brittle nails, and dull skin. He advises starting your day strong and energized by not skipping breakfast.
