Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has stated that the opposition brought a no-confidence motion against the Speaker to divert attention from their internal party conflicts.
During the ongoing budget session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) moved a no-confidence motion against Speaker M. Appavu. However, the motion was defeated in a voice vote, and later, it also failed in a division vote.
Following this, CM Stalin took to social media to express his views on the matter. In his post, he said:
“Those who cannot find fault with the government and those attempting to divert attention from their internal party issues have brought a no-confidence motion against the Speaker.”
He further emphasized that, “Unlike the previous administration, the current Speaker has been conducting Assembly proceedings with neutrality. The House has shown its confidence in him by rejecting the opposition’s motion.”
