A key conference is set to take place in Mamallapuram, focusing on the upliftment of backward communities in Tamil Nadu. PMK President Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss addressed the media ahead of the event and emphasized the need for inclusive development.“To protect the 69% reservation policy in Tamil Nadu, we must conduct a caste-based census. Based on population and the level of social backwardness, all communities — including the Vanniyars — should be given fair access to education, employment, and opportunities,” he said.
He further pointed out that “Northern districts in Tamil Nadu are highly backward in terms of education, economy, per capita income, and human development. These regions, which have a large population of Scheduled Castes and Vanniyars, need focused development measures.”
“Drugs like ganja must be eradicated completely. Ensuring safety for women is also a top priority. This conference in Mamallapuram will highlight all these pressing issues,” Anbumani added.
The upcoming event is expected to reflect the PMK’s commitment to social justice and equitable growth for all marginalized communities.
