DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth has responded to questions about her party getting a Rajya Sabha seat.Speaking to reporters, she said, “Patience is bigger than the ocean,” asking party workers and the public to wait calmly.
The Election Commission has announced Rajya Sabha elections for six Tamil Nadu seats on June 19, 2025.
Earlier, there were reports that DMDK may be given a Rajya Sabha seat as part of an alliance understanding with AIADMK during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
However, the final decision is not yet known.
Premalatha’s recent statements have also shown appreciation for the DMK government’s policies, creating speculation about a possible shift in political stand.
With Assembly elections coming up in 2026, the DMDK’s next political move is being closely watched.
