Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu has praised Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for his transparent and honest approach to governance, stating that the CM has never played a double role in politics.Speaking to the media in Tirunelveli, Appavu said, “Acting is for cinema, not politics. Chief Minister Stalin has always been clear in his actions and words. He does not indulge in double-dealing or pretend to be something he is not.”
He made these remarks while addressing the media on various state-level developments and ongoing political debates, including the central government’s push for the “One Nation, One Election” concept.
Appavu highlighted the inclusive work done under Stalin’s leadership, particularly within the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department. “The CM has ordered the consecration of temples and ensured that temple chariots which were idle for decades are being used again. He has also taken steps to open colleges under the HR&CE Department, aiming to serve all communities,” he said.
The Speaker also addressed criticisms aimed at the DMK government, stating that they were often based on misinformation or misinterpretation. “Certain forces went to court to block the opening of new HR&CE colleges. These actions show that some do not want inclusive progress,” he remarked.
On the subject of Assembly proceedings, Appavu assured that steps are being taken to improve transparency. He mentioned ongoing efforts to live-telecast Assembly sessions more extensively and said that a complete archive of Assembly speeches will be made available online before the current term ends.
Training programs are also being conducted for MLAs to guide them on maintaining decorum and using respectful language during sessions, he added.
In conclusion, Appavu reiterated that the Tamil Nadu government under Chief Minister Stalin is committed to honest, inclusive, and transparent governance without any form of political double play.
