Medical counselling for MBBS and BDS courses in Tamil Nadu will start on July 30. Health Minister Ma Subramanian announced this on Tuesday.The state selection committee will release the merit list on July 25 at 10 AM. This will be done after verifying all the applications.
This year, 72,743 applications were received for MBBS and BDS courses. The selection committee is currently checking the documents.
The Minister said the verification will be completed by July 25. Counselling will begin as scheduled under the Union Health Ministry.
However, irregularities were found during document checking. Around 20 students submitted fake certificates.
Among them, four gave fake NRI certificates, seven used forged nativity certificates, and nine gave false community and nativity documents.
The Minister confirmed that legal action will be taken against those who tried to cheat the system.
