Madurai, Aug 20: The leader of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party, Vijay, has arrived in Madurai ahead of the party’s second state conference. The event is scheduled to take place the day after tomorrow.Upon his arrival, Vijay held a meeting with party executives to finalize preparations for the conference. The event is set to be held at Parapathi, along the Madurai-Thoothukudi national highway. According to the report, preparations for the major event are underway in full swing.
Earlier, Vijay has asked party workers to stay disciplined during the party’s second state conference in Madurai on August 21.
In a letter to members, Vijay said the convention should show TVK’s political direction and its idea of “Conscience Democracy.” He compared the 2026 Assembly elections to important elections in 1967 and 1977 and said TVK would show its strength.
Vijay advised senior citizens, pregnant women, children, and differently-abled people to watch the event from home. He asked cadres to maintain safety and order “with military-like discipline.”
He ended the letter by assuring workers that victory is possible, saying, “We will meet in Madurai with open hearts. We will win through strategy. Victory is certain.”
