BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad said Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s mission to eradicate corruption in Tamil Nadu cannot be stopped by “corrupt forces and political conspirators.” He was responding to reactions from opposition parties following Shah’s address at the BJP’s booth committee conference in Tirunelveli.
Prasad criticised DMK Deputy General Secretary A. Raja for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of “maligning Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar, and the Prime Minister for political gain.” He said, “No force, however cunning, can sever the unbreakable bond between the Prime Minister and the people of Tamil Nadu.”
He praised Modi’s contributions to Tamil language and culture, calling him a “true son of Tamil soil” and urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take action against Raja.
Slamming Tamil Nadu Congress chief Selvaperunthagai’s comments about BJP leaders “stealing votes,” Prasad said such remarks “reflect a lack of political decorum.” He also criticised Minister Nehru’s claim that DMK faces no competition, stating that Shah had “boldly pledged to uproot this corrupt regime.”
Highlighting corruption cases involving DMK leaders Senthil Balaji and Ponmudi, Prasad said, “The authority to govern cannot be entrusted to those steeped in corruption.”
He accused DMK allies and “separatist elements” of destabilising politics in the state, but said they would “fail to bring meaningful change.”
“The NDA, under Prime Minister Modi and former Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, will win the 2026 Assembly elections and bring in a people-centric government,” Prasad asserted.
