Actor-turned-politician Vijay will begin his first statewide election campaign under his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in Tiruchy today. The campaign tour titled āUnga Vijay, Naan Varenā (āYour Vijay, Iām comingā) will continue across multiple districts until December 20.
The Tiruchy campaign launch will take place at Marakkadai, where police have given permission with strict conditions. Roadshows and processions will not be permitted, and the number of vehicles will be restricted. Police have also advised against the attendance of children, pregnant women, and elderly people.
Ahead of the launch, Vijay has stated that the DMK government will impose restrictions on his campaign that are not applied to others. He, however, urged his supporters to cooperate with police and follow all rules during the campaign.
