A fresh controversy has broken out in the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) over the change of the party’s head office address.Senior leader and MLA G.K. Mani has alleged that party president Anbumani Ramadoss altered the official address without informing cadres. He pointed out that the Election Commission has listed the party’s office as 10, Tilak Street, T Nagar, Chennai, while for decades the headquarters has been located at 63, Nattu Muthu Nayakkan Street, Dhenambakkam, Chennai. Mani termed the change a fraudulent move aimed at misleading party workers and the public.
Responding to the charge, PMK’s legal wing president K. Balu, speaking on behalf of Anbumani, said the change was not secretive. He maintained that both Dr. Ramadoss and others in the party were aware of it. He further claimed that the party continues to function from its permanent headquarters and dismissed Mani’s allegations as politically motivated.
The dispute has once again exposed internal rifts within the PMK, with leaders trading charges over the control and management of party affairs.
