Kanchipuram, Sept 23: Tamil Nadu Handlooms and Textiles Minister R. Gandhi indirectly criticized actor-politician Vijay during a public address. Speaking in Kanchipuram, he said, āWhen elections approach, he comes to the streets and speaks as he pleases.āThe minister added that government officials have been instructed not to respond to such comments, following directions from the party leadership.
Vijay, who leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has been making statements on issues like NEET and other government policies. Gandhi emphasized that while people can express their opinions, these remarks do not affect the state governmentās work.
He also highlighted the governmentās efforts in promoting the handloom sector and supporting local industries.
