Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin after the Karur stampede that killed 39 people, including women and children, at actor-politician Vijay’s rally.
Amit Shah reviewed the situation and promised full support from the Centre. He expressed sorrow over the deaths and offered condolences to the families. He also asked about the injured and the relief work being done.
The Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the state government. Shah assured that the Centre will give all help, including rescue, relief, and medical aid. He said the ministry is closely monitoring the situation with state authorities.
Meanwhile, the Governor has also asked the state government to submit a full report on the tragedy.
