After the tragic Karur stampede that killed 39 people at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay’s rally, the party has moved the Madras High Court. TVK asked for a CBI probe or a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry.Senior TVK leader Nirmal Kumar made an urgent request to Justice Dhandapadi on Sunday. He alleged stone pelting and conspiracy behind the tragedy. The case will be heard by a Division Bench of the Madurai Bench today afternoon.
Meanwhile, Senthil Kannan, one of the injured, also filed a petition. He asked the court to ban Vijay’s rallies until proper safety steps are taken. His plea will also be heard soon.
