Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman voiced strong opposition to the Tamil Nadu government’s Private Universities Amendment Bill 2025 during the University Professors’ Union one-day hunger strike held at Egmore’s Rajarathinam Stadium, Chennai.
Seeman urged the immediate withdrawal of the bill, which he said creates confusion and adversely affects university professors. He also called on the DMK government to convene an emergency assembly session to adopt a resolution opposing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, reflecting his continued political activism.
Responding to queries about his recent remarks on actor Vijay, Seeman clarified that questioning does not imply criticism. He emphasized ideological alignment, saying one must either stand for Dravidian ideology or Tamil nationalism.
He dismissed rumors of any personal rift with Vijay, noting that the actor continued to greet him on his birthday, suggesting no ill feelings.Seeman’s interventions highlight tensions in Tamil Nadu’s political and educational spheres leading up to the 2026 elections.
