Selva Perunthagai, a senior Congress leader, has reaffirmed the strong alliance between the Congress and the DMK in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. Addressing recent speculations about shifting political loyalties, he asserted that the INDIA alliance remains firmly united in the state and no one can break this coalition. The alliance, which includes the Congress alongside DMK, has showcased consistent electoral success in recent years and remains committed to good governance based on secularism, social justice, and development. He drew parallels with the political upheaval in Bihar, highlighting challenges faced by opposition coalitions elsewhere but reiterated that Tamil Nadu’s INDIA bloc is poised to secure victory again. He emphasized that despite attempts by rival parties to destabilize the coalition, the unity between DMK and Congress continues to strengthen, offering voters a credible alternative in the face of fragmented opposition. @@@
