Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremoniously hoisted the sacred saffron flag atop the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, marking the formal completion of one of India’s most iconic temples.
The flag was raised on a Shikhar constructed in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style, symbolizing the temple’s deep cultural and spiritual significance.
Surrounding the temple is an 800-meter-long Parkota, a circumambulatory enclosure built in the South Indian architectural tradition, showcasing the temple’s architectural diversity and unity.
Ahead of the flag hoisting ceremony, the Prime Minister participated in an aarti and special prayers at the Ram Mandir, joined by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, reflecting the spiritual and cultural unity of the occasion. The event was marked by religious rituals performed by 108 Acharyas from different parts of India.
Sculptor Prashant Pandey, who crafted the idols in the Ram Darbar, expressed deep emotions about the historic moment, saying, “It is our eyes and heart which see things, I can’t express in words the joy in my heart. We have been blessed with this good fortune. My soul is full today.”This flag hoisting symbolizes the dignity, unity, and cultural continuity embodied in the ideals of Ram Rajya.
The ceremony marks a new chapter in the temple’s journey and is a momentous occasion witnessed by thousands of devotees and dignitaries, symbolizing spiritual fulfillment and national pride.
