The Tamil Nadu government has announced special voter registration camps to help people add their names to the electoral roll after the draft voter list was published. The camps will be held at all polling stations in the state on December 27, 28 and January 3, 4 to assist voters with registration matters.

These special camps are being organised in response to requests from the public after the draft list was released on December 19 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise conducted by the Election Commission. Eligible citizens who find that their names are missing from the voter list will be able to submit applications during these days.

At the camps, people can submit Form 6 to add their names to the voter list, Form 7 to raise objections or request removal of incorrect entries and Form 8 to update or correct their details, including address changes or other errors.

The move aims to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the final electoral roll ahead of the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. This special initiative is expected to make it easier for people, especially new voters, to register or update their information without facing hassles.

Officials have urged voters to make use of this opportunity and check the draft voter list at their nearest polling station or online to confirm their status before attending the camps.
