R- Day medals for 44 police personnel announced

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday announced State government medals for 44 police personnel in connection with the Republic Day celebrations.
According to an official release, the awards are instituted in recognition of Excellence in Intelligence and Excellence in Special Operations by officers and personnel of the Intelligence Unit, with the objective of motivating them for their dedicated service.
This year, the Chief Minister has ordered the conferment of the “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Intelligence and Excellence in Special Operations” on 43 police officers and personnel and one Special Branch Assistant serving in the Intelligence Unit, on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.
Each awardee will receive a gold medal weighing 10 grams along with a lump sum cash grant of ₹25,000.
The medals will be presented by the Chief Minister at a function to be held at a later date.
