Washington, Feb 27: Hillary Clinton is testifying before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee in New York as part of a congressional investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The closed-door deposition in Chappaqua marks the first time a former president, Bill Clinton, will be compelled to testify before Congress. The Clintons agreed to appear after threats of contempt charges.

Børge Brende has stepped down as president and CEO of the World Economic Forum after facing scrutiny over past contacts with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Brende, Norway’s foreign minister from 2013 to 2017, said he resigned after “careful consideration” to allow the forum’s work to continue without distraction.
The WEF had launched an internal review after documents showed Brende dined with Epstein several times and exchanged messages.
Brende said he met Epstein only in business settings and was unaware of his crimes.
The forum said an independent review found no additional concerns. Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president and CEO.
Bill Gates addressed his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a town hall at the Gates Foundation, saying he “took responsibility” for his actions.
spokesperson said Gates answered questions candidly. Recently released Justice Department documents include emails between Gates and Epstein about philanthropy, calendar entries of meetings, and photos of events they attended.
Gates has not been accused of wrongdoing and says he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes, but regrets the relationship and apologized.
The renewed scrutiny follows the document release. Gates recently withdrew from speaking at an AI summit in India. Melinda French Gates said he must answer questions about the relationship.
